Opening Ports for an EverFocus EDR using Your Router

When you use an EverFocus EDR DVR you may need to forward ports in your router. A port forward allows incoming connection requests from the internet to go straight to an EverFocus EDR DVR.

Routers generally do not allow incoming connection requests from the internet. A port forward can overcome this limitation.

Before forwarding a port make sure that you know these things:

• The IP address of your router.
• The IP address of your DVR.
• The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.

Use a VPN Instead

• Put the IP address of your DVR in the proper box in your router.
