How To Open Ports in Your Router for KDX Server

You might need to forward some ports in your router when you use KDX Server. The purpose of forwarding ports is to make a direct connection from the internet to KDX Server.

Routers generally do not allow incoming connection requests from the internet. By forwarding a port you can overcome this limitation.

Make sure that you know these things before forwarding a port:

• Your router's IP address.
• The IP address of your computer.
• Each of the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward.

Alternatively you can do it by hand. The normal process for forwarding a port is:

• Begin by logging in to your router.
• Locate your routers port forwarding section.
• Type the IP address of your computer into the correct box in your router.
• Put the TCP and UDP ports for KDX Server in the corresponding boxes in your router.

Frequently you have to reboot your router for the changes to take effect.
