How to Open a Port in Your Router for ACTi ENR-1100

You may need to forward ports in your router when you use an ACTi ENR-1100 DVR. The purpose of forwarding ports is to make a direct connection from the internet to an ACTi ENR-1100 DVR.

By default routers do not allow incoming network requests. Forwarding ports can work around this limitation.

Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things:

• The internal IP address of your router.
• Your DVR's IP address.
• The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.

Use a VPN Instead

Port forwarding can also be set up step-by-step by hand. The process for forwarding a port is:

• Log in to your router.
• Locate your routers port forwarding section.
• Type the IP address of your DVR into the correct box in your router.
• Enter the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward for an ACTi ENR-1100 DVR in the corresponding boxes in your router.

Usually you have to reboot your router in order to save the changes.
