Opening Ports for IC Realtime Recorders using Your Router

When you use an IC Realtime Recorders DVR you may need to forward ports in your router. A port forward allows incoming connection requests from the internet to go straight to an IC Realtime Recorders DVR.

Routers generally do not allow incoming connection requests from the internet. By forwarding a port you can overcome this limitation.

Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things:

• The IP address of your router.
• Your DVR's IP address.
• The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.

• Log in to your router.
• Look for the port forwarding section in your router.
• Put your DVR's IP address in the proper box in your router.
