Port Forwarding on Your Router for Jamcast

You might need to forward some ports in your router when you use Jamcast. By forwarding ports you allow connection requests coming from the internet to be directed to Jamcast.

Routers generally do not allow incoming connection requests from the internet. By forwarding ports you can work around this limitation.

Before forwarding a port make sure that you know these things:

• Your router's IP address.
• Your computer's internal IP address.
• The list of the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward.

Use a VPN Instead

Alternatively you can do it by hand. The normal process for forwarding a port is:

• You can start by logging in to your router.
• Locate your routers port forwarding section.
• Put the IP address of your computer in the proper box in your router.
• Enter the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward for Jamcast in the corresponding boxes in your router.

Usually you have to reboot your router in order to save the changes.
