Port Forwarding on Your Router for VidOn Media Center

When you use VidOn Media Center you may need to forward ports in your router. By forwarding ports you allow connection requests coming from the internet to be directed to VidOn Media Center.

Routers do not generally allow incoming connection requests from the internet. By forwarding a port you can overcome this limitation.

You need to know the following things before you can forward a port:

• Your router's IP address.
• The internal IP address of your media server.
• The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.

Use a VPN Instead

• Put the IP address of your media server in the proper box in your router.
• Put the TCP and UDP ports for VidOn Media Center in the corresponding boxes in your router.
