2Wire routers
2Wire was a home networking manufacturer. 2Wire was founded in 1998 in San Jose, California. In 2010 2Wire was bought by Pace plc. As a result a large number of 2Wire routers are found in Europe. It is also common to find a 2Wire router with a custom interface for Verizon, BigPond, or AT&T.
Open Port on 2Wire Routers
Generally 2Wire routers are easy to configure, but the port forwarding sections are a little more difficult. In order to port forward most 2Wire routers you need to create a Profile for the application and then bind it to a computer on your network. However once you have got a port forwarded they seem to work great.
Simply find your 2Wire router model in our list below. If you are unable to find your exact router model then we suggest following our 2Wire 2701HG guide. This guide should get you a open port on just about any 2Wire router.

Use a VPN Instead
Have you considered using a VPN instead of forwarding a port? For most users, a VPN is a much simpler and more secure choice than forwarding a port.
We use and recommend NordVPN because not only is it the fastest VPN, it includes a new feature called Meshnet that makes forwarding a port no longer necessary for most applications. With NordVPN Meshnet, you can connect to your devices from anywhere in the world, completely secure, over a highly encrypted VPN tunnel.
Every time you click on one of our affiliate links, such as NordVPN, we get a little kickback for introducing you to the service. Think of us as your VPN wingman.
