Port Forwarding the 3com 3CP4130 Router for UltraVNC

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the 3com 3CP4130 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the 3com 3CP4130 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your 3com 3CP4130 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your 3com 3CP4130 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The 3com 3CP4130 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your 3com 3CP4130 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.200.254.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default 3com 3CP4130 Router Username is: admin

The Default 3com 3CP4130 Router Password is: 1234


Click the Ok button to log in to your 3com 3CP4130 router.

How to Port Forward UltraVNC on the 3com 3CP4130


Having trouble forwarding ports on the 3com 3CP4130?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your 3com 3CP4130 router to save you time and hassle.

Before we can forward ports for UltraVNC, we need to figure out what ports UltraVNC is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up UltraVNC and get into the Admin Properties.

In the Incoming Connections area you should see a Ports Main and Ports Http boxes. The Ports Main box lets you specify the port that will be used when you use a VNC Viewer to connect to the server. The Ports Http box lets you specify the port that will be used when you use a web browser to connect to the server. If you want to change the ports go ahead and do so. Then enter those ports into the boxes below.

Now that you are logged in to your 3com 3CP4130 router you should see the following:

Click the Configuration link near the left of the page.

Click the Remote Site Profiles button near the center of the page.

There is most likely only one option in the list on this page. Go ahead and click it, then click Modify.

Click the Next button near the bottom of the page.

Clicking the TCP or UDP button on this page will bring you to the page that we will use to forward ports.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. UltraVNC requires you to forward the ports you entered above. If the text above says UDP instead of TCP, go back to the previous page and select UDP to get the proper configuration page. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Remote Site Name: add menu and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Remote Site Name: add page. If the text above says UDP instead of TCP, go back to the previous page and select UDP to get the proper configuration page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

When you're finished, click Save Configuration near the left of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for UltraVNC on the 3com 3CP4130 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
