Most routers come from the factory with a basic firewall, the 1net1 R-90 router is no different. This is to protect your home network from undesired access from the Internet. A firewall blocks incoming connections and sometimes you need to get a connection that by default is blocked by your firewall. To open a connection is to open a port. This is also called port forwarding because you are allowing everything on that port to be forwarded directly to your home network.

The steps involved are:

If this sounds difficult at first, don't worry, I'll walk you through all the steps to forward a port on the 1net1 R-90 router.

We think that forwarding a port should be easy. That's why we created Network Utilities. Our software does everything that you need to forward a port.

When you use Network Utilities you get your port forwarded right now!

Step 1

It is important to setup a static ip address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports will remain open even after your device reboots.

This step is important because you want a permanent IP address in your device. If you do not set up a permanent IP address in your device, then when you device reboots it may get a new IP address.

Use a VPN Instead

Have you considered using a VPN instead of forwarding a port? For most users, a VPN is a much simpler and more secure choice than forwarding a port.

NordVPN faster than ever deal!

We use and recommend NordVPN because not only is it the fastest VPN, it includes a new feature called Meshnet that makes forwarding a port no longer necessary for most applications. With NordVPN Meshnet, you can connect to your devices from anywhere in the world, completely secure, over a highly encrypted VPN tunnel.

Step 2

It's time to login to the 1net1 R-90 router. To do this you need to use a web browser because the 1net1 R-90 router uses a web interface. It shouldn't matter what web browser you use. Common ones to use are Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer.

Go ahead and open up the web browser of your choice and find the address bar along the top of the screen. It looks like this:

Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your router and type in your router's IP address.

The default 1net1 R-90 IP Address is: 192.168.0.1

Press the enter button on your keyboard. That should direct you to the following screen:

1net1 1net1_R-90
1net1 1net1_R-90.

You should see a blue box prompting you for the correct username and password.

After entering the correct username and password, click the Login button to access the 1net1 R-90 router web interface.

1net1 Usernames and Passwords

If you find that the username and password did not work then try visiting our Default 1net1 Router Passwords page.

If you are still unable to access your router's web interface you probably changed your password at some time in the past and have forgotten. It may be time to consider resetting the 1net1 R-90 router back to the original factory defaults. Read this guide to learn more.

Step 3

Once you have successfully logged into the 1net1 R-90 router you need to make your way to the port forwarding section. The following image is of the 1net1 R-90 Home page.

In this router you have two different options for forwarding ports. One allows you to forward a range of ports and the other option allows you to forward a single port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, click Multi Port Forwarding in the left sidebar under Advanced. If you are forwarding a single port, click Single Port Forwarding under the Advanced heading. Below is the Single Port Forwarding screenshot.
