Free for all is self explanatory. Run. Shoot. Win. xD
If you're more of a short distance player, like myself, you'd use the shotgun and rocket launcher as an example.
Other guns, health and power ups are around each map that you play on.
The lightening gun is great because it has no exact range. It can go as far as it pleases and does significent amount of damage.
Here's an overview of the guns. (You can't always pick guns like this. Varies from game mode.)
