Step 1 - Setup A Static IP Address

After setting up a static ip address on your devices you need to login to your router.

Step 2 - Login To Your Huawei Router

In order to login to the Huawei HG658c router you need to use a web browser. The Huawei HG658c router uses what is called a web interface where you can access and control router settings.

Go ahead and open up your favorite web browser. If you don't have a favorite or are not sure what this means, open up Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

  1. Click on the New button at the top of the screen.

  2. Click the Customization radio button.

  3. Choose your internet connection from the Interface drop-down list.

  4. Select the protocol type of the ports that you are forwarding from the Protocol dropdown box. If your router has the option of Both, then go ahead and select that. Otherwise, select either TCP or UDP as needed. If you need to forward a port for both TCP and UDP, but your router does not have Both, then you will need to create two entries.

  5. To forward a single port, enter the port number into the External Start Port and the External End Port boxes. To forward a range of ports, enter the lowest number in the range into the External Start Port box. Then enter the highest number in the range into the External End Port box.

  6. You need to enter the IP address that you are forwarding ports to into the Internal Host box. This can be either the IP address of your computer or any other IP address on your network that you want ports forwarded to.

  7. Take the same values that you entered into the External Start Port box, and enter them into the Internal Port box.

  8. Make up a name to put in the Port Forwarding Name box. The name does not have any effect on the functionality of the forward; it's simply there so you can know why it was created.

  9. When you are completely finished, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page to apply these changes.
