Opening Ports for PopMJU using Your Router

You might need to forward some ports in your router when you use PopMJU. Forwarding ports is used to allow incoming connection requests from the internet to PopMJU.

Routers generally do not allow incoming connection requests from the internet. Forwarding ports can work around this limitation.

Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things:

• The internal IP address of your router.
• Your computer's IP address.
• The list of the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward.

Another option is to go through the process of forwarding ports one step at a time. The normal process for forwarding a port is:

• Start by logging in to your router.
• Look for the port forwarding section in your router.
• Type the IP address of your computer into the correct box in your router.
• It is now time to type the TCP and UDP ports that you are forwarding for PopMJU in the correct boxes in your router.

You probably will need to reboot your router for the changes to take effect.
