Forward Ports on Your Router for Calibre Content Server

You may need to forward ports in your router when you use Calibre Content Server. A port forward allows incoming connection requests from the internet to go straight to Calibre Content Server.

Routers do not generally allow incoming connection requests from the internet. By forwarding ports you can work around this limitation.

Make sure that you know these things before forwarding a port:

• The IP address of your router.
• Your computer's IP address.
• The list of the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward.

You can also choose to set up port forwards manually. The step-by-step process for forwarding a port is:

• Log in to your router.
• Look for the port forwarding section in your router.
• Type your computer's IP address into the correct box in your router.
• Put the TCP and UDP ports that you are forwarding for Calibre Content Server in the correct boxes in your router.
